Business Networking Houston Dallas

TOPS IN TEXAS NETWORKING FOR BUSINESSES...

WHAT IS IT:
Referrals make any small business go. Increasingly, they're what makes large businesses go as well. We network together our Tops In Texas businesses to help give one another referrals for business.

EXCLUSIVITY:
We take one of each category of business for each of Houston's Four Quadrants:
Northeast, Southeast, Southwest and Northwest. If you're a plumber, there's no other plumbers allowed in.
Each member receives a business card holder and your cards.

HOW IT WORKS:
Each member pays a $395 1 time annual fee.
Each member pledges to give out two referrals to other members each month or pays $50 into the "Lazy Pot."
Most referrals each quarter wins the pot.
Each member pledges to attend a minimum of one Virtual Network Meeting per month for the year.
Each member pledges to stay in for 12 months.
Each member must be a member of one of the Direct Mail programs.
Each member must attend the annual meeting to meet the other members.
The weekly meetings include a roll call and a chance for each member to pass a referral.
Each week the members who gave referrals is posted and emailed.
Each week the members who did not give referrals are posted and emailed.
Each week each member identifies type of business or exact business/person they are looking for a referral to.

 WHY IT WORKS:
Networking is the engine that makes small businesses go. There are some great networking alternatives out there.  Invariably, by my way of experience, most business networks seem to evolve in one of two directions.  The chamber model is great because it supports the area in which you work and/or live.  But too often it becomes more ceremonial or event driven or perhaps it becomes more of a social gathering.  Without a focus on referring business, without a focus on goals to get and give business, the chamber model works at best sporadically for a few members. The other model is a business networking model that is focused on developing business for one another's businesses but it too can evolve in one of two directions. Many times it will become a social gathering where the referrals are ones that you would have received from the members of the organization who are already your friends... Or, it becomes so focused on the practice of referring business and the skills and accountability required to make a referral based organization work, that it soon mistakes activity for productivity.  Either way, referring business requires organization and accountability.

A BETTER WAY...  Our way is different... We meet virtually online at the Tops In Texas webcast and phoneline twice a month for 90 minutes.  Attendance is mandatory at 12 of the 24 meetings held.  There are a number of categories - Enter Here TO SEE CATEGORIES - and we've divided HOUSTON into 4 quadrants: Northeast, Southeast, Southwest and Northwest.
