This little known band, having toured clubs for years came into Houston. My business
partner at the time said, "These guys are good... you need to see them..." They had a weird name.
I'd never heard of them before and didn't care. He had met with them before and we had named them
Top New Band in America under our Tops In America brand. They'd even put a "We're Tops In America, What
the Hell Are You?" on their website... Still he went to see them and stayed late after the club had
closed to speak with them. "We're beat... It's just not happening for us..." is what they told my
partner. "No.. .don't give up," he advised. "Get off the road, it's killer. Go back into
studio, cut a new CD and make a killer music video," my business partner directed.
Well... they did go back into studio. They did cut a new CD... and this music video was
the result. It catapulted the group to enormous success. That would be the end of the story
except for one minor detail. My partner saw the video but had been diagnosed with cancer and later
passed away. The group never found out what happened to Mark Esposito. And Mark never got to see
how successful the music video had made the group that was about to give up...
